Our Unique Thailand TEFL Course for Target Learner Groups or the CELTA?
Choose a TEFL Course for the real world!
Confused about whether to enroll in the much touted CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) Course, designed for teaching adult students only and specifically those already able to speak English as a second language (however badly) ... or in TEXT-AND-TALK Academy's own TEFL for Target Learner Groups Course?
Well, if you wish to qualify to teach both ESL and EFL anywhere in the world, and to successfully train English students all the way from children in a nursery to the Chief Executive Officer of a company, then you may be interested in reading the experience of Mr Sam Strozzo...
From our TEFL Course graduate Sam Strozzo:
"I'm not sure if you remember me, but I am the fellow from Savannah, Georgia who took your course out of province and came to see you in Bangkok before it started.
"First, let me thank you for a wonderful course, and for providing such a great TEFL Course trainer and support!
"To demonstrate the quality of my instruction, please allow me to tell you about a brief experience while interviewing for a job at the Sarawitthaya Children's School just up the road from your office in Bangkok.
"I was with a fellow who had recently completed the CELTA course at International House in London. When asked to prepare a brief lesson plan 'on the fly' for an extemporaneous crash lesson for the interview, I had no problem coming up with what I feel (and the interviewer seemed to feel, being that I got the job) was a successful lesson.
"My counterpart, who was about my age, qualifications and temperament, struggled. I gave him words of encouragement (probably not the best idea as I was interviewing also, except I had already secured a job), and I was sad to see that he ultimately delivered a largely ineffective lesson in spite of that.
"In summary, thanks to my trainer's instruction and your materials, which trained me to teach effectively to children as well as adults, I clearly outperformed a CELTA graduate of otherwise similar qualifications to my own. This makes me extremely glad that I chose your course above the more 'well known' CELTA, as it taught me to actually function in the real world..."
Finally, does the above in any way mean that the CELTA is a bad course? Absolutely not! However, one does have to keep in mind that the CELTA training is primarily designed to help you teach ESL (English as a Second Language) learners only, and to adults only (and mainly to university or international school students), and NOT to children or EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners who have not yet developed the experience and self-confidence to actually use English as a second language.
Does this mean if you take and pass our own world-renowned TEFL Course that you would outperform a CELTA graduate in all circumstances? Possibly not, as a lot depends on the individual. However, there can be NO DOUBT whatever that you would do a much better job of teaching EFL learners and children (anywhere in the world) than would a CELTA course grad.
That is a fact, and this is what we can promise with certainty to ALL graduates of our TEXT-AND-TALK Academy's TEFL for Target Learner Groups Course!
